Marco Pappagallo, MD

Marco Pappagallo, M.D. is Senior Medical & Scientific Advisor at Psy Therapeutics, where he provides strategic leadership in translational neuroscience, clinical development, and painpharmacology. With more than 30 years of experience spanning academic medicine, clinicalneurology, and biopharmaceutical innovation, his career has been dedicated to advancingnovel, non-opioid treatments for pain and neuropsychiatric disorders. A recognized leader in thefield, Dr. Pappagallo has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and fourtextbooks, and holds multiple U.S. and international patents related to pain medicine.

Dr. Pappagallo has held senior faculty positions at Johns Hopkins, NYU, Mount Sinai, andAlbert Einstein College of Medicine, and served as Chief Medical Officer at CerSci and RelmadaTherapeutics, leading programs from early development through clinical milestones. Hecontinues to practice medicine at the Pain and Neurorestoration Medical Center in New YorkCity, where his close work with patients provides unique insight into the biology and livedexperience of pain, helping to guide Psy’s mission to develop next-generation treatments forcentral nervous system disorders.

Dr. Pappagallo earned his MD from the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” completed hisneurology residency at SUNY Stony Brook, and a clinical and research fellowship in PainMedicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
